Giving Thanks ... again (November catch up)

I can't believe that it's almost a month since I've updated our blog...lots of adventures, lots of stories, major sleep debt.  I'll be catching us up quickly so we can keep up to date.
Here's our Thanksgiving adventure
Our Thanksgiving was a beach day...a first in a looong time.  Xavi enjoyed digging in the sand and watching papa surf.  Then we were invited to join Debbie and her family at her home...it was nice to have family to be with on that special day and it was good to reflect on what we were thankful for...family, love, and those who serve to keep us safe.  I remember that day very clearly because Xavi took 2- 2+ hour naps without my assistance...and he was so happy.

Not only was it a good nap day but he slep until 2:30am!!! Unheard of...but the next morning he woke with a fever and we had to spend the day traveling to Wisconsin.  He was miserable but I just held him and offered what comfort I could.  It was strange to have him so quiet and docile...evident that he was in pain.
Four days in the recliner, holding and nursing him back to health.  The fever lasted for 3.5 days and it got up to 103+...it was scary.  But it broke on its own and within a few hours...pop!  he was back...well almost.  It took a few days of being wobbly and needy to get back to full speed...but it was such a relief to see him happy and on his way back to health.

Back to doing stair workouts (for Xavi AND Gramma who chases him up and down)

Walks outside all bundled up

Really, mom? How many layers is this?

Another creative use of the potty...especially if not using it for peepee

Xavi's birthday present...a Flexible Flyer sled...just waiting for snow

Gramma and lunch time

Grampa and breakfast time

Sitting in the same highchair as Gramma did when she was a baby

Travel is always hard...hard on me, hard on him...but what's great is the love that's waiting on either end for us.  We are thankful for that and all our blessings!  (Including the ocean!!)

Missed you papa
catching up on zzzzz's

Beautiful beach sunset...sigh.
